Tripe is the stomach of
ruminating animals such as cattle, sheep and deer. The "green" does
not refer to the color, but means that this tripe has not been bleached or
scalded and still retains some of the gastric juices. Green tripe is a rich
source of amino acids and digestive enzymes, making this a healthy treat or
dietary supplement. Freeze-drying preserves most of the nutrients of the tripe, which can be fed as part of a meal, or broken into smaller pieces and given as treats. The tripe medallions can also be re-hydrated by soaking in warm water. Most dogs go wild for green tripe, which can be a bit smelly. Great for pets with digestive issues.
